Parole Officer Arrested

Parole Officer Arrested

A state parole officer has been arrested on drug and other contraband charges from parolees, according to the New York State Police.

Stacey Sullivan, 43, of Greenwich was arrested Thursday, Jan. 16, by the NYSP and its Community Narcotics Enforcement Team - Capital Region, charged with one felony count of falsifying business records (1st degree) and one misdemeanor count of official misconduct.

The investigation revealed that while working as a Parole Officer, Sullivan confiscated contraband from parolees under her control and failed to properly document or secure the items, police said in a statement. The contraband included steroids and prescription drugs and she admitted to investigators that she used some of them herself over several years.

Sullivan has been suspended pending internal hearings, police said. She was processed at the State Police barracks in Greenwich and released with an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Rotterdam court.
